When I first heard about this book about dogs needing nursing care, I only thought, "Hmm, it must be expensive and difficult."
A friend of mine is taking care of a cat, and the medical costs are really .......
However, the difficulty of taking care of a dog was nothing compared to that of a cat.
Dogs are bigger and heavier than cats, and have to go for walks.
Author made a device like the picture on the cover for her dog, Puki, who wanted to go for a walk even though he couldn't stand up.

最初に要介護犬の本、ときいたときは「ふーん、お金かかって大変だろうなあ」くらいにしか思わなかった、実は。
友だちが猫を介護しているんだけど、ほんと医療費が……。
しかし犬の大変さは猫の比じゃあなかった。
犬は猫より大きいし重いし、そして散歩に出なきゃならない。
立てなくなっても散歩に行きたがる愛犬プキちゃんのためにカバーの絵のような装置を作ったり。
ゲラを読んで、想像を超えた世界にこれは大変な本を引き受けてしまった、と身の引き締まる思いでした。
